Safer, Faster Tank Cleaning with RigCraftor’s Tank Truck Ladder
“With the old ladder, if it slipped, you were falling five feet to the bottom. With RigCraftor, it’s solid. It doesn’t move.”

The Challenges
At Agro Lav, tank truck cleaning is a daily operation. With up to 100 tankers washed every week, workers constantly need to climb inside tanks—making safe access absolutely critical.

Before RigCraftor, the ladder they were using created more problems than it solved. It rested against the curved bottom of the tank, shifted constantly, and scratched the interior. One employee had to hold the ladder in place while another climbed down, slowing the process and increasing risk.
Positioning was also a major issue. The ladder could only be placed to the left or right of the manhole, supported by the tank’s inner curve. If it slipped, the fall was severe—up to five feet straight to the bottom of the tank.
It was bulky, slow to set up, unstable, and far from ergonomic.
The Solution
Agro Lav reached out to RigCraftor with a clear request: a ladder that was solid, ergonomic, easy to carry, and quick to install and remove—without damaging tanks or putting workers at risk.

The RigCraftor Tank Truck Ladder was designed specifically for that environment. Unlike the old setup, it can be positioned in front of, behind, or to the side of the manhole, without relying on the tank’s curve for support. Once in place, it stays put.
There’s ample clearance around the manhole, no risk of scratching the tank, and no need for a second person to stabilize the ladder. It’s purpose-built for confined tank environments where stability and precision matter.
The Results
With the RigCraftor ladder, Agro Lav was able to:
-
Eliminate ladder movement and slip risks when entering tank trucks
-
Reduce fall hazards by providing a stable, fixed access point
-
Protect tank interiors with zero scratching or damage
-
Speed up operations, with faster setup and takedown
-
Improve worker comfort, making the task easier and less physically demanding

For Philippe and his team, the difference was immediate. The ladder is solid going up or down, easier to handle, and simply works the way it should.
“I didn’t expect to find so few flaws,” Philippe says. “Basically, there aren’t any.”
