If you’re here, you’ve probably got your Pneumatic Strap Launcher in hand and want to see it working the right way, the safe way, and the fast way.

Watch the video first, then use the steps below as your quick reference anytime you need a refresher.

What the Pneumatic Strap Launcher Uses (And Why It Matters)

This tool runs directly off your trailer air.

You’re using the air coming from the tractor to the trailer, with the adapter included. That adapter fits onto the cover and lets you connect cleanly and safely.

Step-by-Step: Setting Up the Air

  1. Make sure the front valve is closed.

Always start closed — it keeps everything controlled while you set up.

  2. Disconnect the air from the trailer.

Squeeze the line in, disconnect, and then reconnect to restore air flow.

  3. Turn the tractor air on.

This gives you full pressure in the system.

With a normal setup, you’ll typically have around 120 lbs of air available.

  4. Connect the launcher to the air line.

Once connected, you’re ready to load.

Important:

There’s a valve on the launcher — keep that valve closed while loading every time.

Step-by-Step: Loading the Strap

  1. Mount the launcher.

Install it securely in its position before loading.

  2. Insert your strap into the bucket.

Feed it all the way down to the bottom so it sits properly.

    • Lock it into place.

    • Secure it at the strap point.

    • If your strap doesn’t have a hook like shown in the video, no stress — the hook stays and it still works the same.

      Lock and secure the strap.

  3. If the strap feels tight going in:

Straps aren’t all the same thickness.

Just unroll a little more, then feed it back in smoothly.

  4. Lock the strap in and place your chain to the side.

That’s it. Loaded and ready.

Step-by-Step: Launching the Strap

  1. Stand back about 4 feet from the trailer.

Roughly 48 inches gives you the right angle and space.

  2. Lean, aim up, and launch.

Keep a steady stance, angle upward, and fire.

  3. Hook your chain after the launch.

Once it’s shot, grab the chain and hook it on the side.

After You’re Finished: Releasing Air + Reconnecting

When everything is strapped:

  1. Release the air.

  2. Reconnect your trailer normally.

You’re back on the road.

Quick Troubleshooting / FAQ

“My strap doesn’t slide in easily.”

Totally normal. Strap thickness varies. Unroll a bit more, then reload.

“Do I need special hooks?”

No. If your strap doesn’t have the exact hook shown, it still loads and fires the same way.

“How much air should I use?”

For most standard setups, 60 lbs is the sweet spot on a 3-in strap load.
